Mary Etta Murdock

Mary Etta Murdock, age 75, of Beckley peacefully passed away on May 23, 2023, at the Beckley Healthcare center. She was born June 27, 1947, in Dameron, WV, a daughter to the late Orla Clifford Murdock and Nancy Katherine Houck Murdock. She attended Trap Hill High School and was of the Baptist faith. Mary will be remembered as a selfless, loving person who always thought of everyone before herself. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, and making crafts. Mary is survived by her two nephews, Michael Thomas Flannery and his wife Cindi, of Dameron, WV and Jason Kohut, of Scranton, PA; one niece, Dawn Helgren, of Oceanside, CA, her great nephew, Michael A. Flannery, of Midway, WV; two great nieces, Brandi Bationo and her husband Rodigue, of Beckley and Kaitlin Flannery, of Dameron, WV; her great-grandnieces, Emily Flannery, of Fairdale, WV and Jaelyn Bationo, of Beckley; one great-grandnephew, Mikah Bationo, of Beckley; her aunt, Ester Houck, of Hopewell, VA; and cousin, Mike Kinsley, of Grandview, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Richard Henry Murdock, sister Connie Susan Adams, maternal grandparents, Luke and Elizabeth Houck, nephews, James Richard Flannery and John Joseph Flannery. In keeping with her wishes, Mary will be cremated. A graveside service will be held at the Old Greenbrier Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with Michael Flannery officiating.
