Ralph Calfee Obituary
PRINCETON – Ralph Daryl Calfee, 91, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025 after a short illness. Born April 28, 1934, in Lake Shawnee, he was the son of the late Earl Roscoe Calfee and Roxie Louise Tilley Calfee.
Ralph was a masonry contractor for 20 before surrendering his life to the ministry. He preached the gospel for 42 years where he pastored Rich Creek Baptist Church in Spanishburg. He carried on the legacy and ministry work of his great-grandfather, who was a charter member in Rich Creek Baptist Church in 1869, Andrew Jackson Calfee. His life was devoted to serving God and his family. His greatest joy in life was to share the gospel no matter where he was; whether it be in a home or a hospital. He led a countless number of people to the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dillard Calfee, Mack Calfee, and Donald Calfee; sisters, Mildred Sutter, Betty Bailey, Shelby Anthony, and Helen McBride; sisters-in-law, Mary Calfee, Patty Calfee and Sharon Calfee; and brothers-in-law, Jack Sutter, Larry Bailey, and Bobby McBride.
Those left to cherish his memory are wife of almost 70 years, Charlotte Jones Calfee; children, Russell Calfee and wife Diahn of Athens, Richard Calfee and wife Freda of Indian Valley, VA, and Carolyn Calfee Worley and husband Kevin of Athens, WV; grandchildren, Daryl Calfee and wife Erica, Aaron Calfee and wife Tonya, Joel Calfee and wife Megan, Staci Leigh Moore and husband Trey, Zachary Worley and wife Kayla, and Zayne Worley and wife Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Ella Calfee, Easton Calfee, Carter Calfee, Alliston Calfee, Ezekiel Moore, Ellie Moore, Blakeleigh Worley, Cruz Worley, Andrew Calfee, Emmanuel Calfee, Tucker Calfee, Esther Calfee, Elias Calfee, Charlotte Worley and Ezra Worley; brother, Carl Calfee of Princeton, and Jack Calfee of Decatur, IL; sister-in-law, Wilma Calfee; brother-in-law, Robert Anthony; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Rich Creek Baptist Church in Spanishburg with Pastor Jamie Mattox, officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Interment will be Monday, June 16, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends and family who wish to attend graveside service are asked to meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Rich Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 101, Spanishburg, WV 25922.
