Richard Colvard Obituary

Richard Lee Colvard, Sr., 86, of Princeton passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at his residence. Born November 27, 1938, in Welch, WV he was the son of the late Elmer Colvard and Helen Smith Colvard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Colvard, and Randolph Colvard; and one brother, David Colvard. Richard was a retired coal miner. He had also previously worked in autobody repair and pinstriping. He was a member of Calvary Ministries in Bluefield, WV. He is survived by one son, Richard Lee Colvard, Jr. and wife Patricia of Winston-Salem, NC; two daughters, Ronda Lynn Stafford and fiancée Michael Dooley of Princeton, and Robyn Littleton and husband Edwin of Cross Lanes, WV; seven grandchildren, Travis Colvard, Zack Colvard, Emily Colvard, Ashley Colvard, Austin Colvard, Daniel Doletol, and Crista Colvard; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Colvard, Jr. of Bicknal Flats, WV; two sisters, Shirley Trail and husband Eddie of Bicknal Flats, WV, and Linda Towery and husband Joe of Shreveport, LA; and good friend who was like a son, Jack Bovier of Princeton. In keeping with Richard's wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services.
