Roy Aulton "Bill" Sorrell

Roy "Bill" Aulton Sorrell, 94, of Hilton Village went to meet with his Savior on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley. He was born on July 28, 1931 at Ramsey; he was the son of the late Roy Oakley Cole and Hettie Sorrell Cole. Bill married his sweetheart Frances Sorrell on September 1, 1951. Together they celebrated 70 years of marriage until her death in 2021. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dale Preast; sisters, Claudis, Bertha, Dollie, Nellie and Velva; brothers, Robert, Delbert and Shirley. Surviving are his children, Delbert (Karen) Sorrell of Belleville, MI, Burton Sorrell of Fayetteville, Peggy Preast of Hilton Village and Ronald (Cheryl) Sorrell of Russellville; Grandchildren, D.J.(Gloria) Preast, Jeremy (Yolanda) Sorrell, Heather Hundley, Todd (Nicole) Sorrell, Valerie (Jeff) Endicott, Jonathon (Sam) Sorrell, Matthew Sorrell, and Tyler (Kayla) Sorrell; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Waveline Kowalski, Elbert Sorrell, Beulah Chapman and Garry (Betty) Sorrell. A very special thanks to Leota Adkins, a nurse at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill, WV. Leota's caring spirit and dedication to Bill's care was a blessing to him and the family Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2025 at Victory Independent Baptist Church of Ansted with Pastor Tony Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor. Visitation will be from 12:00 until time of service at the church.
