Toini Irene Chowdhury

Toini Irene Chowdhury, age 78, of Alderson, formerly of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Lewisburg Healthcare Center in Ronceverte. She was born August 25, 1944, in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Otto Jaakob Suokas and Toini Aili (Juvonen) Suokas. After graduating from Lake Worth High School in 1962, she went on to work for Mckesson & Robbins Pharmaceuticals and LabCorp as a courier. She also enjoyed driving part-time for a Finnish Taxi service in the Lake Worth, Florida area. In 2008, Toini moved to Alderson. She worked at the Riverside – Alderson Exxon deli, she met a lot of friends and enjoyed talking to and seeing people day-to-day. Toini was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church in Alderson. She always enjoyed spending time with her mother traveling to visit in Finland, where she had dual citizenship. Her favorite things included reading, listening to music, evening drives looking for deer, and driving throughout West Virginia because the beautiful scenery reminded her of Finland. She is survived by her close friends, Sylvia Jean Keaton, and Charla Fisher, both of Alderson. In keeping with her wishes, Toini will be cremated, and Lobban Funeral Home is honored to be assisting her friends with the arrangements.
