XENIA — Patricia A. McClelland Hackney, 69, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at her residence. Her husband, David V. Hackney, survives. They were married October 12, 1968. Mrs. Hackney was born March 20, 1948 in Xenia, Ohio, daughter of Mary Jones McClelland of Xenia, Ohio and the late Harold McClelland. She was a 1966 graduate of Xenia High School. Mrs. Hackney was the office administrative assistant at the Wilmington Yearly Meeting for 27 years. She was a member of Chester Friends Meeting and the longtime church treasurer. She was active in the Clinton County Farm Bureau and the United Society of Friends Women. She was a former member of the Quaker Knoll Camp Board. She was also involved in several activities over the years with the Clinton Massie School system. She enjoyed gardening and won numerous awards for her vegetables and canning at the Clinton Co. Fair. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Hackney is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Addison of Wilmington, Ohio; two sons, Mark D. (Sarah) Hackney of Wilmington, Ohio and Kent (LeAnn) Hackney of New Vienna, Ohio; a sister, Judith (Larry) Andrews of Mason, Ohio; a brother, Douglas (Amy) McClelland of Springboro, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Matt Addison, Vanessa Addison, Abel Hackney, Nathan Hackney, Gideon Hackney, Cecilia Hackney, Gwen Hackney, Peyton Garen, and Brody Hackney; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Chester Friends Meeting, 3451 Gurneyville Road, Wilmington, Ohio with Mike & Nancy McCormick officiating. Burial will be in New Burlington Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Chester Friends Meeting. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016 or the Quaker Knoll Camp Board, c/o Wilmington Yearly Meeting, 1870 Quaker Way, Wilmington, OH 45177. The family would especially like to thank Mary Morgan at the DaVita PD Clinic for the care and compassion shown to Pat over the years.
