Kelli McCarthy Obituary
AGE: 29 • Ocean Twp.
Kelli A. McCarthy, 29, of Ocean Township passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013. She was born in Long Branch, grew up in Eatontown where she lived before moving to Ocean Township four years ago. Kelli was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School in Red Bank and Georgian Court University, Lakewood, New Jersey. She worked for several years in the hospitality industry for TGI Friday's. She was a manager at their Iselin location until her recent promotion to General Manager at TGI Friday's location in Brooklyn, New York. She received three "Stars" from the leadership team, something she wore proudly to work every day. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in West End, New Jersey. Her wish was to be an organ donor which she accomplished through the New Jersey Sharing Network.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad Street, Eatontown. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11am at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 800 Ocean Avenue, Long Branch. The interment will immediately follow at the Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport.
Kelli is predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandfathers, Frank Zampello and James McCarthy. She is survived by her parents, James C. and Suzan A. Zampello McCarthy of Eatontown; a brother, Christopher J. McCarthy of Eatontown; her maternal and paternal grandmothers, Rose Zampello of Ocean Twp. and Dora Cecilione of Long Branch. She also is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and her two dogs, Brooklyn, Bella and cats, Cody and Gabbi.

To Kelli's Mom, Dad, and brother Chris,
I use to see Kelli when she was working at the TGIFriday in Eatontown near the mall. She was always beautiful, perky, smiling, seamlessly efficient at performing her work duties. The food service business is a challenging business, she breezed through with ease and joy. Anyone who was in her path, whether it be a co-worker, boss, trainee, or a customer at the restaruant, was blessed to be in her presence. She took the time to engage people, make all around her feel comfortable and relaxed. Friendly, warm, welcoming, kind, that was Kelly. No doubt she is a greeter at the Gates of Heaven now. I only just heard of her passing two days ago. I was shocked and devastated of course. It makes no sense that such a vibrant force would be taken so abruptly, far to soon, for ALL who love her here on Earth. Her spirit shines brightly no doubt. Our Loved ones send us signs from Heaven. This past Saturday was 10 months since you passed. We have missed you every day. I still find it difficult to believe you are gone from all the people who needed you...you gave so much of yourself and we all loved you for it Kelli. It has been almost 6 months since we lost Kelli. We all miss her every day. It is very different without her. However, her family and friends continue to show their love for our daughter and share stories about her.
Her is my story...about two months ago, my son, Chris and his girlfriend were having coffee at the mall. Seating in front of us was a woman by herself. The table to her right was a fater and his two daughters, one 6 and the other maybe 8 or 9. He had just come from Burger King and was setting up lunch for the three of them.
The 6 year old walked over to the womna and asked "where is your mommy?" She replied, "in heaven." The little girl had 4 or more follow up questions for her. I turned to Chris and Erica and told them that is what Kelli did when she was that age....she was always asking questions to strangers when we were out. Well, the father finally had luch all set up and turned to the little girl and said "Kelly, come over and have lunch with your sisiter and me." I looked at Chris and Erica and could not believe my ears...another Kelly. I almost asked the father how her name was spelled but did not.
Kelli's good nature and soul are around us.

So many of you came to say goodbye to Kelli, sent cards, notes, food and flowers and offered your prayers...it was wonderful to see such an outpouring of love for our daughter.
At the wake, so many people offered stories about Kelli, some I had never heard before and I cherish each and everyone of you who came to say goodbye to our munchkin.
My wife, Suzan, and Kelli were best friends...shopping and then returning, motherly advise, stories of their cat's and how to solve the next problem. Suzan did a wonderful job of raising Kelli and Chris...both benefited from her love, going to Tak, listening to the Beach Boys and the Four Seasons.
My son, Chritopher, is a wonderful man who loved his sister very much. He gave a speach at the wake that left everyone speachless and understanding how much he loved his sister. I am so proud of him.
I will miss Kelli everyday. She was a father's dream. So nice and loving to all she met....I met so many of her co-workers from Eatontown to Boston who came to say goodbye. She loved working at TGI Friday's and they enjoyed her gift with people.
Everyone want to do something and you have already done it...coming by and sharing your thoughts/stories about our daughter has meant so much to our family.

It is with a heavy heart to read about the passing of Kelli. I have treasured memories of Kelli as a child who ran around Tak Beach and she grew up to be an extraordinary, accomplished young lady. To know Kelli, was to love her. She was kind, compassionate, loyal, loving,funny, smart, good natured and extremely beautiful both inside and out. I always adored her- she was someone really special. She had a smile that could light up the world and her good energy and love for life was inspiring. If you even had the opportunity to even meet her, you were lucky. She was a one of a kind! Susan, Jim and Christopher- you will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May Jesus hold you in the palm of his hand and may your memories of Kelli comfort you and surround you with peace. My deepest sympathy. I am so heart broken.

When I first applied, Kelli was the first person to greet me at Fridays in Eatontown around January of this year... I will never forget her enthusiausm. She was a great leader and a wonderful person who cared about everyone around her. This is a sad day in the life of such a glowing person. My prayers are with Kelli's family.
