James Pettus Obituary

James David Pettus, Sr. June 19, 1950 – August 21, 2025 James David "Jimmy" Pettus, Sr, of York, SC, passed away at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC on August 21, 2025. All services will be private. Born in Rock Hill, SC on June 19, 1950, Jimmy was the son of the late William Henry Pettus and Christine Brewer Pettus. He was a proud US Army Vietnam Era Veteran. Jimmy is survived by his wife Deborah Ainslie Pettus and his children, Tracey Bottles Elliott (Brian), James David Pettus, Jr. (Danajean), and Chad Pettus. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amber Bauman (Brian), Robbie Bottles (Alexa), Erin Montgomery (Justin), and Ian Elliott (Daisa); his siblings Donna Faris (Steve) and Janice Freeman, along with 10 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings William Larry Pettus and Christopher Pettus.
