Donald Shaffer

Donald P. Shaffer YORK Donald Peter Shaffer, 70, of York died at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2003, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Shirley Durgin Shaffer, to whom he was mar ried for 44 years. He was a retired employee of Frigid Coil East. Prior to that, he worked for Emeco Industries, Hanover, and Litton Industries. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a life member of the West York Memorial VFW Post 8951. He was also a member of the Viking Athletic Association, 12th Ward Democratic Club, 13th Ward Political Club, Shiloh American Legion Post 791 and the B-D Social Club. Born November 3, 1932, in York, he was a son of the late Chalmers and Marian Alwine Shaffer. In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Brian Shaffer of Shiloh; a daughter, Julie Shaffer of York; two grandsons, Andrew and Blake; a twin brother, Ronald Shaffer of Shiloh; three sisters, Marian Hylton and Joyce Lenhart, both of York, and Lennie Sudeck of Dallastown. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2003, at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
