Doris J. Geiman

HANOVER Doris J. Geiman, 81, entered into God's eternal care, Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Hanover Hospital. Doris was the loving wife of Marlin R. Geiman, who died November 4, 1997. Born June 12, 1930, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary Ida (Wolf) Shriver. Doris was an active member of St. Paul's Dubs United Church of Christ, Hanover. She was a 1948 graduate of Eichelberger High School. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling. Doris is survived by four children, Dale J. Geiman and wife Joanne of Hanover, Thomas L. Geiman and wife, Nancy of Valley Center, Calif., Janice E. Geiman-Schmidt and husband, Robert Schmidt of Spring Grove, Joyce E. Ruth of Hanover; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Shriver of Hanover; and three sisters, Gladys Berwager of Hanover, Mary Becker of Hanover, and Ruth Hoffer of Virginia. She was preceded in death by one son, James L. Geiman who died January 2, 1976. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Doris's life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at St. Paul's Dubs United Church of Christ, 1958 Dubs Church Road, Hanover, with her Pastor the Rev. Larry M. Estepp officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. A time to share memories with the family and view will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, as well as from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, May 14, 2012, at the church. Serving as the casketbearers will be Greg Geiman, Jason Carbaugh, Patrick Geiman, Lindsey Ruth, Westley Geiman, Matthew Ruth, and Robert Schmidt. Memorial contributions in honor of Doris may be made to St. Paul's Dubs United Church of Christ, 1958 Dubs Church, Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
