Doyle Stout Obituary

NORTHUMBERLAND Doyle Lewis Stout, 79, entered into the arms of his loving Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He leaves behind his wife, Mildred E., to whom he was married 59 years. The Stouts would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 28, 2008. He was born October 12, 1928, the son of the late Byron and Naomi Stout. He was a native of Berwick and was a 1946 graduate of the Berwick High School. In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves behind three children, Eric M. and Joan Stout of Berwick, Beverly S. Stout and Greg D. and Wendy Stout, of Northumberland; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, Angelic and Brian Hess (children, Joel and Chase) of Berwick, Amber and Jim Frace (children, Tyler and Erica) of Berwick, Tracey and Kevin Roush of Beavertown, Andrew and Jamie Pauling (daughter, Lara) of Sunbury, and Bryan and Sean Stout of Northumberland; and one sister, Audrey Graybill of Selinsgrove; and one stepsister, Hildred Stout of Berwick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Naomi and Byron Stout; his half sister, Loretta Heath; and three half brothers, Paul, Morris, and Lawrence Stout. Mr. Stout was a current member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church of Sunbury. He was also a former member of Berwick Bible Church, Sunbury Bible Church, and Church of the Open Door of Shiloh. Mr. Stout and his wife, Millie, were both active in the church family. Together they organized and ran the "In Betweeners" group at Emmanuel. One of Doyle's favorite activities with the group was the yearly corn roast, hosted at their home or the church. Mr. Stout was a devoted family man who loved to cook, work on his home and lawn, and loved to play games with his family and friends. Doyle was a lifelong employee of Weis Markets. He began his career as a clerk in the Berwick store in 1947. In 1955, Mr. Stout was transferred to the Sunbury area as produce manager for the Market Street Store. Then in 1959, Mr. Stout was promoted to District Superintendent for the Southern Pennsylvania and Maryland Weis Markets chain. During this time, the Stout family resided in Haines Acres in York. In 1969, Mr. Stout was again promoted to General Produce Buyer for the Weis Markets chain. His office was then located in the Sunbury warehouse. In 1986, Mr. Stout was again promoted this time to Produce Superintendent out of Milton for the entire Weis Markets chain. After 47 years, he retired in 1992. Mr. Stout's life goal was to tell others of God's love. He always spoke of the free gift of salvation for all who would accept it. The family will provide flowers. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be sent to Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church of Sunbury Pa (Picnic Shelter Fund) in memory of Doyle L Stout. Services will be held at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church on Saturday. Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m. and graveside service at Riverview Cemetery in Northumberland. A meal will be provided for family and friends immediately following the graveside service at Emmanuel Bible Lower Fellowship Hall.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.

My dear Aunt Millie, Eric, Greg and
Bev, My heart goes out to you in sympathy and love. I know Uncle Doyle is in heaven. He was such an example of a Christian Uncle. I have so many happy memories of my childhood spent with your family and my Mother Audrey, Doyle's sister. Uncle Doyle became a Father figure after our Father Ed died in 1968.
We live in Florida and my husbands and my health do not allow us to come to Pa, but you are in our prayers.

23rd Psalms "The Lord is my shephard
I shall not want,
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, He leadeth me beside still waters, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death , I will fear no evil, for thou art with, thy rod and thy staff thy comfort me"
