Gladys Simpson

WHITE HALL, MD Gladys ''Rose'' Simpson, 95, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Shrewsbury. She was the wife of the late Carroll G. Simpson. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom, with Pastor Bruce C. Frame and Pastor Carroll M. Brown officiating. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Interment will be in Wiseburg Cemetery, White Hall, Md. Born September 17, 1912, in White Hall, Md., Gladys was the daughter of the late Joshua J. and Iva (Miller) Hanna. Gladys was a member of Wiseburg United Methodist Church, White Hall, Md., and the United Methodist Women. She was an excellent baker, best known for her fresh rolls, bread, and "apple stuff." Gladys loved her family, and especially enjoyed her vegetable, fruit, and flower gardens. Gladys is survived by two sons, Thomas C. Simpson and his wife, Sue of White Hall, Md., and Dale C. Simpson and his wife, Marsha of Spring Grove; and a daughter, Betty J. Trussell and her husband, William of Phoenix, Md. She is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson; one great-grandson; eight brothers; and six sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Wiseburg United Methodist Church, P.O.
