Harry J. Ulrich

HELLAM TWP. Harry J. "Judd" Ulrich, 79, died Thursday, November 17, 2011, at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy E. (Staggert) Ulrich. They were married 51 years. Judd was born on April 24, 1932, in Williamsport, son of the late Harry B. and Mary (Donnell) Ulrich. He retired as a brakeman from the Pennsylvania Railroad after 38 years of service. He also owned the former A Axel Auto Salvage in Hellam. He was a 1952 graduate of Williamsport High School, a member of the 12th Ward Democratic Club, the Railroad Stock Club, and Fairmount United Methodist Church. The viewing will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York. The funeral service will begin at 6 p.m. Monday with the Rev. John Bell officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery, at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 22, 2011. In addition to his wife, Judd is survived by five sons, Timothy Ulrich, husband of Judy of York, Michael Ulrich, husband of Cheryl of York, Axel Ulrich, husband of Ann of Hellam, George Ulrich, husband of Jody of Red Lion, and Harry J. Ulrich, Jr. of Williamsport; two daughters, Joy Magayle of Montoursville, and Mary G. Ulrich of Williamsport; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Ulrich; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Ulrich; and a brother, George R. Ulrich.
