James A. Inners Jr.

WASHINGTON, DC James A. Inners, Jr., 75, died Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline M. (Hoerner) Inners. A visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by an 11 a.m. Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York, with the Rev. Louis OFM Cap as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery with full military rites provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is entrusted with the arrangements. Mr. Inners was born July 9, 1935, in Spring Grove, a son of the late James A., Sr. and Violet Fern (Lau) Inners. He had been a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service York Branch for 32 years and was later a check processing clerk with AAA. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, the National Association of Letter Carriers, and the Knights of St. Paul. He was a life member of the 12th Ward Democratic Club, the Knights of Columbus Council 1530, and the 4th Degree Bishop McDevitt Assembly. Jim is survived by four sons, Joseph M. Inners and his wife, Sue of York, James J. Inners and his wife, Dawn of Windsor, Jeffrey A. Inners and his fiancee, Delores of Westminster, Md., and John G. Inners of York; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan M. Inners.
