Jim, Carolyn and Family - I just recently heard about Jimmy's passing. I can't begin to express how sorry I am. Of course I remember Jimmy as a little boy growing up as my neighbor and the many times I babysat him and his brothers. Please know that I am thinking about all of you. I am just sorry that I didn't hear about this sooner so I could have attended the service. Take care and know I am thinking of you.

Dear Becky and family, I've just recently learned of Jim's passing. I never met Jimbo in person, but he and I corresponded through an online forum where we became pretty good friends over the past five or six years. About three years ago, Jimbo found out I was a fan of the Steve Miller Band and a couple weeks later, he sent me a brand new box set of DVD's from SMB's live concert in Chicago. He was just that kind of guy. I grieve his passing, but can't begin to imagine what you, his family, are going through even now four months later. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you try to find a way to move on without your loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend.

Jimbo's passing leaves me feeling empty and wishing I could have somehow intervened. John Donne's poem describes perfectly how I feel:

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

May you find peace, strength, hope, and happiness again in the days ahead by trusting in Jesus Christ our Lord.
