James Wherley Obituary
Dover - James L. Wherley, 59, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Normandie Ridge. Born February 22, 1959 in York, he was a son of the late Leon E. and Fern L. (Shoemaker) Wherley, Jr.
Jim graduated from Dover High School in 1978. He was employed by Prospect Hill Cemetery where he was a groundskeeper.
Jim was a member of the Ninth Ward Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Melissa Ann McClain of Harrisburg; two grandchildren; three sisters, Kathy A. Lamparter of Dover and Donna Grove and Nan Louise Harcourt, both of Florida; and his fiancée, Maxine Lang of Dover.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jim's funeral at 10 a.m. and the viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Officiating will be Pastor Brian King, assistant pastor of Bible Baptist Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Salem Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family at this time of need. We got to meet Jim in the home as our father was there. Jim made sure he kept an eye on him and we were greatful for that. Hope you enjoyed that taco and soda plus your red hots and gum. Fly high Jim and we will meet again.
