Janet M. Emig

DOVER Janet M. Emig, 86, entered into rest late Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the loving wife of Robert E. Emig, Sr. The couple celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2014. Born November 9, 1927 in York, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Goldie (Pressel) Lehr. Janet graduated from William Penn High School in 1947. She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, York and the Optimists Club in West York. In her younger years, Janet enjoyed bowling in a ladies league and spending time in the sun. She kept an immaculate home as well as cleaning homes for others. In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by three sons, Larry E. Emig and wife, Brenda of Harrisburg, Robert E. Emig, Jr. and wife, Margaret of Newberry Township and Terry L. Emig and wife, Pamela of Dover; a daughter, Deborah Ann Wilson and husband, Dallas of Suffolk, VA; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Jo Emig, two sisters and three brothers. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Janet's funeral at 11 a.m. with the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Trinity Rd., York. Burial will follow in St. Paul's (Wolf's) Church Cemetery. Officiating will be her pastors, the Rev. Paul Gausmann and the Rev. Sally Gausmann.
