Jean M. Hughes

LEWISBERRY Jean M. (Bishop) Hughes, 79, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. She was the wife of the late Spurgeon G. "Pud" Hughes. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry, with the Rev. K. David Haring officiating. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:00 noon Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery. Born April 25, 1930, in Lower Allen Twp., a daughter of the late Clyde and Lottie (Snavely) Bishop, she was a homemaker and enjoyed dealing in vintage glassware at antique shows and had a stand at Silver Springs Flea Market for 18 years. She loved going to auctions and sales. Mrs. Hughes is survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. Seiler of Shippensburg; two sons, Spurgeon "Butch" Hughes and companion, JoAnn Mroczka of New Cumberland, and Mark B. and wife, Cathy Hughes of Lewisberry; three granddaughters, Laura, Carly, and Cristy; three grandsons, Peter, Jonathan, and Jordan; three great-grandchildren, Laney, Lillian, and Jake.
