Joan R. (Hoover) Rinehart, 72, passed away on August 30, 2016, at Rest Haven Nursing Home. She was the wife of Robert R. Rinehart. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on March 14th of this year.
Born in York on November 22, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Paul E. and Madelin R. (Greenholt) Hoover. Joan was a homemaker and stay-at-home mother. She was later employed with Lincolnway Bowling Alley and Peter's Candy Store. She was a graduate of York Suburban High School Class of 1961. Joan loved gardening, playing games and cards.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, Robert E. Rinehart and his fiancée, Maureen Ensor, of Bel Air, Md. and John A. Rinehart and his wife, Chris, of Raleigh, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Hannah Rinehart, Benjamin Rinehart, Ethan Rinehart, Amelia Rinehart, Brad Ensor, Luke Ensor, and Dan Ensor; brother, Carl E. Hoover and his wife, Jackie; sister-in-law, Helen Hoover; brother-in-law, Larry A. Rinehart and his wife, Lois; sister-in-law, Donna M. Spangler; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no viewing or service. A visitation with the family to share condolences will be 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Koller Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 2000 W. Market St. in York. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Olivia's House, 830 S. George St., York, PA 17403.
