John R. Hake

YORK John R. Hake, 57, passed on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Christina A. (Smith) Hake, with whom he shared 16 years of marriage. Born on July 13, 1956, in York, he was the son of the late Dorothy (Bear) and Charles L. Hake. Mr. Hake was a painter with GALENCO Contractors. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. The laughter he gave his family and friends will be deeply missed. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Christina Hake; children, Philip J. Hake, Sarah E. Kostenbauder (husband Eric), Erin C. Smith, Adam C. Smith, Shannon V. Harris, and Jordan W. Harris; grandchildren, Taliah, Emeric, Landon, Leelah, and Brady; siblings, Henry Bear (wife Grace), Mary Kann (husband John), and Peggy Nace; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St., York, PA 17403. The Celebration of Life Services will be at 12 noon with the Rev. Charles Lindeman officiating. Interment will be in Quickels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home to help defray expenses.
