John E. Ramer

John E. Ramer, 63, died at the Essa Flory Hospice Center in Lancaster Tuesday August 10, 2004. He was the husband of Margaret A. Orlousky Ramer. Born in York, Mr. Ramer was the son of the late Murray E. and Louise Ramer. He worked as a valve technician for Caterpillar in York until his retirement. He was a member of Lancaster First Church of God, and he enjoyed archery, hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Timothy Ramer of York, and Bradley Ramer of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Lannie Ramer of Columbus, Ohio, and Nikki Gutt of Windsor; one stepson, Clint Hill of Ephrata; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Barry Ramer of East Providence R.I., Lester and Edward Ramer, both of York; and a sister, Connie Kirkendall of York. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Lancaster First Church of God, Chestnut and Mulberry Sts., Lancaster, with Pastor Donald Price officiating. Interment will be private.
