John Simpson Obituary

YORK John E. (Skip) Simpson, 58, entered into rest on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Lorraine Eady-Simpson. John was born on July 16, 1953, in York, to the late John E. Stokes and the late Ertha Simpson known as Mrs. Bunnie. John was educated and graduated through the York City School System and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a welder for BMY for 15 years, and a welder at Wagman Metals for 5 years; and he worked for the housekeeping dept. at York Hospital for 8 years. Some of John's hobbies and special interests included; welding, gardening, outdoor sports, reading and watching historical events, cooking and taking pictures. In addition to his wife Lorraine, John leaves to cherish his memory, six brothers, Freddie Simpson wife Kathy, Ronald Simpson wife Terry, Robert Simpson wife Linda, Ricky Simpson, Wayne Simpson and Raymond Simpson; two sisters, Joann Bonnette and Vicky Washington; a sister-in-law, Mary Simpson; three aunts, Helen Way, Betty Orr, Mary Mae Frederick; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, William (Sonny) Simpson. A viewing is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Boulding Mortuary, Inc. 471 Madison Ave., York, Pa. 17404 and a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Melvin R. Baber, officiating. Full military rites will be given by the York County Honor Guards. Boulding Mortuary, Inc. is handling arrangements. www.bouldingmortuaryinc.com
