Julie M. Rhoads

YORK Julie M. (Graff) Rhoads, 46, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008, at her residence. She was the wife of David A. Rhoads, to whom she was married 18 years. A graveside tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Prospect Hill Cemetery with the Rev. W. Michael Langford officiating. Family and friends will meet at the Pennsylvania Ave. entrance of the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born January 25, 1962, in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Doris (Friedt) Graff, she was a 1980 graduate of Central York High School and a 1984 graduate of York College of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Rhoads worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Lancaster and was a former elementary school teacher in Central and York City school districts. She was an avid pet advocate and enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, reading, and making crafts. In her childhood, she attended Messiah United Methodist Church and liked to play the flute. Mrs. Rhoads is survived by a sister, Susan L. and husband, Rick Warner of York; a brother, William C. Graff of York; a nephew, Bryan Dieterich of Marshall, N.C.; her mother-in-law, Mary Rhoads of York; and sisterin-law, Kelly Rhoads of York.
