Kenneth E. Rinehart

YORK Kenneth E. Rinehart, 88, formerly of Seven Valleys, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Charlotte Mae (McWilliams) Rinehart. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday from the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. The service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at the mortuary with the Rev. Dr. Mark L. Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Joseph Giesey Memorial Cemetery, Shrewsbury, with full Military Rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. He was born October 4, 1925, in Red Lion, a son of the late John and Estie (Rabenstein) Rinehart. Ken was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1987 from the Dallastown Area School District following 10 years employment in the maintenance department and was previously employed with Worden & Shewell of York as a mechanical contractor for 25 years. Ken was a member of New Freedom Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman. Ken leaves two daughters, Sharon L. Getz of Port Royal, and Sheila A. Golden of York; two sons, Stephen E. Rinehart of Seven Valleys and Shawn M. Rinehart of Taylors, S.C.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Gibbs of Shrewsbury.
