Lance was always so calm, easy-going and reassuring. We certainly admired his tenacity and strength in dealing with the wide open prairies of Wyoming. We were once hiking on unknown trails to find an alleged cabin on the side of some rocky hills. The location was discovered, but my sister and I were desperate, along with exhausted and predictably frightened. Then there was Lance. He had his backpack with an abundance of provisions and a good explanation for our return. We would just have lunch, and circle left around the back side of the mountain and follow the river. Of course, Lance was correct and it was one of many adventures we enjoyed with our older cousin.

Still, Lance was concerned that our trek into the wilderness might produce additional nightmares about those scary animals of the western desert, so he bought us huge, life-sized, stuffed bears so that we would know the things we were most afraid of would probably never happen or were not real. They were more than just toys to us and a reminder of how thoughtful Lance was about every experience.

Lance was actually a very talented carpenter, adept ranch organizer and helpful advisor to any in need of guidance. We cherish the times of laughter and secluded joy that he offered on so many occasions.

Aunt Romaine, Cindy and Jason can certainly know that Lance made a difference in the lives of others because he was steadfast, loyal and dependable in those times where it counted the most.

Thank you dear Lance. We will be forever grateful for our seasons together and your kind and most generous influence.

Eternal Love always,
April & Anita
