Larry Rogers Obituary

Larry K. Rogers, 62, Seymour, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends after an illness of 15 months.
Mr. Rogers was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was employed as a plumber and pipe fitter and was a member of Local 440. He was also a member of the Eagles Club. He greatly enjoyed fishing and watching races. He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with all his family, especially his grandchildren.
Born in Seymour, on Jan. 24, 1947, he was the son of Keith and Vivian Weddle Rogers, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 15, 1965, at First Presbyterian Church, he married Madge Shenefield, who survives.
Other survivors include his daughters, Lori and Lisa; grandchildren, Hailey, Lorisa and Bailey Jo; brother, Kevin Rogers; stepmother, Mary Rogers; stepsisters, Patti Bentz and Donna Spencer; stepbrothers, Harry Elston, Barry Elston and Larry Elston; and Aunt Jean McMillan and Aunt Pauline Coles.
He was preceded in death by Aunt Inez Horstman.
The Rev. Brad Napier and the Rev. Gary Dyer will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with a Voss dove release following.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Local 440 Families in Need, the American Cancer Society or donor's choice.

Sorry to hearing about the passing of Larry. I had a chance to talk to Larry a few years ago at his cousin Cathy's house. First time I had seen him in 40 some years, since our childhood. It brought back many fond memories. The Mustin family extends our condolences to family and friends.
