Lawrence Bartram Obituary

DOVER Lawrence H. Bartram, 93, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marie Antonetta (Kohler) Bartram. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Betty Frey, Certified Celebrant officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Chapel followed by Full Military Honors provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Private burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery in Dover. Born May 4, 1917. in Ionia City, Mich., a son of the late Samual and Laura (Frisbee) Bartram, he retired from Cole Steel after 35 years of service. Mr. Bartram enjoyed bowling at Colony Park Lanes East, camping, painting, and playing the guitar and cards. He was an avid Phillies fan and was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church in Dover and West York VFW. Mr. Bartram was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Mr. Bartram is survived by a daughter, Kathryn A. Bartram of Dover; two sons, Robert E. and wife Jan Bartram of York and Joseph L. Bartram of Littlestown; and a sister, Agnes Baldwin of Michigan. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Francine J. and Donna R. Bartram; a son, James M. Bartram; and two sisters and three brothers.
