Lois Jean (May) Mundorff entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 2:25 p.m. at her residence at the age of 78. She was the wife of Cecil M. Mundorff of Felton.
She was born in Washington Township on September 5, 1937, and was the daughter of the late John Clement and Mary Jane (Rahauser) May.
Lois attended night classes and graduated Cum Laude from York College of Pennsylvania on May 14, 1974, with a Bachelor of Science degree. She served as District Justice from 1970 – 1993. After retiring from bookkeeping and tax service business in 2013, she ran for the position of District Governor of District 14-C. In 1979, Lois was one of three women who made up the committee that formed the Brogue Lioness Club. In 2001-2002, she received the Lioness of the Year award for District 14-C. She was a life member of the Pennsylvania Lions Vision & Research Center at the Milton Hershey Medical Center. In 2005, she joined the Mason-Dixon Lions Club and served as president for the 2008-2009 year and then served as Zone Chair of Zone B for 2009-2011. Lois had requested to have her eyes donated to the Sight Life/Northeast PA Lions Eye Bank for research. She was a member of Delta United Methodist Church.
Besides her husband Cecil, she is survived by two sons, Marty Mundorff, and John Mundorff and his wife Dana Muskett; three grandchildren, Zachary Mundorff, Jeremy Mundorff, and Ryan Caplinger; and a sister-in-law, Janet Warner
There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends may extend their condolences on Thursday, April 28 at the visitation from 6 to 7 p.m.
A Memorial Service of Honor and Praise for Lois will begin on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Her pastor, Beth R. Holz of Peach Bottom Charge, will officiate at the memorial service. Interment will be on Friday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at New Harmony Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Brogue, with Pastor Tim Klein of Peach Bottom Charge officiating. All who wish to attend should meet at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to: PA Lions Beacon Lodge Camp, 114 SR 103 South Mount Union, PA 17066; or to Grane Hospice Care, 3501 Concord Road, Suite 110, York, PA 17402.
Lois and Cecil celebrated 54 years of marriage. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and her involvement with the Lions activities.
