Lucy Everett Obituary

Lucy C. (Hoffman) Everett, 92, entered into God's eternal care Friday afternoon, December 9, 2005, at the Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Center. Lucy was the loving wife of Clinton B. Everett who died March 21, 1998. Born April 18, 1913, in East Berlin, she was the daughter of the late George William and Lillie Virginia (Bubb) Hoffman. Mrs. Everett was a member of Lohr's Memorial United Methodist Church, Hanover, as well as a former active member of Asbury United Methodist Church, York. She was a member of the York Hospital Alumni Association. Mrs. Everett received her Registered Nurse Certificate from The York Hospital School of Nursing and retired as a Nursing Supervisor from the York Hospital with over 23 years of service. Lucy is survived by one son, Charles G. Everett of Vienna, Va.; one daughter, Virginia C. Everett of Coopers Mills, Maine; one grandson; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Janet L. Dickensheets of Hanover and Jeanne M. Hoke of Abbottstown. A funeral service to remember and celebrate Lucy's life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lohr's Memorial United Methodist Church, 200 East Middle St., Hanover, with her pastor, the Rev. Samuel Velez, officiating. A brunch and time to share with family will be held before the funeral service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery, York. A viewing and time to share memories will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover. If you wish to make contributions in Lucy's name the family suggest they may be made to Lohr's Memorial United Methodist Church, 200 East Middle St., Hanover, PA 17331.
