Martin Weaver Obituary

Martin C. Weaver, Jr. DOVER Martin C. "Butch" Weaver, Jr., 83, of Dover, died early Saturday morning, March 12, 2005, at his home. He was the husband of the late Arlen R. (Lehr) Weav er. He was born April 5, 1921, in Wellsville, a son of the late Beatrice (Weigle) and Martin C. Weaver, Sr. Mr. Weaver worked as a butcher and was the owner of Weaver's Quality Meats, Dover from 1959-1986. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Dover; Harrisburg Scottish Rite of Free Masonry; Zembo Shrine Club; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; York Forest #30; Square Club of York #1052; York County Shrine Club; Zeredatha Lodge #45 F&AM; Union Fire & Hose Co. #1, Dover; and Dover Township Fire Company. He was a graduate of Dover Area High School. Martin is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Glassmoyer and Cheryl D. Wentz, both of Dover; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Fickes of Wellsville and Jeanne Ditmars of York; two brothers, Kenneth and Walter Weaver, both of Wellsville; and his companion of eight years, Kathryn Antes of Dover. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral at 2 p.m. Thursday and the viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9 N. Main St., Dover. Burial will follow in Dover Union Cemetery. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. John Woods. Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, 9 N. Main St., Dover, PA 17315.
