Marvelle sponsored me (Cathy) into The Catholic Church at St. John's in New Freedom. My confirmation name is Katari Tekakwitha, who has recently been canonized. I am happy to say that at that time I did leave a voice mail message for my dear friend Marvelle. I feel blessed to have known her. Our deepest sympathy to Sunny and all of her family. Remembering your mom, unci...Her laugh. Her smile. Her voice. Her Style.....Her strength. Her poise. Her gifts. Her Joys....Her Words. Her grace. Her eyes. Her face....Her Love, her life, and everything that made your mom-unci so special to you and to us, will live on through each of our memories. I am so sorry that my auntie Marvelle is no longer with us. This is just so sad to understand. Words cannot express my grief as well as yours. My auntie was a gift from God and God only shares his gifts for awhile. I love you family and will pray for all the SixToes descendents that we will heal and preserve the beautiful love & legacy of her kindness that our Auntie, sister, mom, unci left us. May God watch over you all and protect you as you get thru this very very sad time. (Psalm 30:5)

Marvelle was one of the first people I met when I came to York back in 1987. She was truly a sweet sweet person who always had a smile and warm heart to share. Once you met her you felt as if you'd known her all your life. She will be missed so much but I know she is with all those gone on before us looking out for us as only angels do. Rest in peace Marvelle. We all love you.

Ms. Marvelle was like a grandmother to me, i'll miss her soft voice and gentle hug and kiss. She was always so patient and thoughtful, asking how my family is doing. She is adored be everyone, especially her grand daughters, my best friends Katy and Erica Isennock. Growing up with the girls, we'd always play at "Gramma Kiddy's" house on Hanover Street in Glen Rock. She'd always have a powwow video playing, and would make us indian tacos. Gramma was always keeping busy! She loved to go places and travel all over. She was very dedicated to her family and went to the girls volleyball and basketball games, homecomings, birthdays, everything! It's beautiful that she helped her family find and maintain their Native American heritage. I'll miss you Gramma, I hope to be a grandmother like you, and I'll never forget you! Xoxoxo

I remember waiting on Marvelle at the drive-thru at Community Banks. She was always an upbeat and positive person. I really enjoyed her. I was also intrigued about her name. May God be with all the friends and family of Marvelle during this difficult time. May you carry forward the good memories and know that she is now in God's hands. All is well with her now. God bless... Ron Malehorn
