Mary Ebaugh Obituary

Ebaugh ELIZABETHTOWN Mary Margaret (Carman) Ebaugh, 94, of the Masonic Villages in Elizabethtown, went home to join her family in heaven on Friday, February 17, 2012, at the home where she had lived for eight years. She was the wife of the late James O. Ebaugh. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with her pastor the Rev. Larry Parlett, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion "Potosi" Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Ebaugh was born on May 14, 1917, in Springfield Township, a daughter of the late John W. and Ida Belle (Brenneman) Carman. She and her late husband had resided in Hametown, later moving to Albuquerque, N.M. for 20 years before coming back to York County. She was a member of Mt. Zion "Potosi" United Methodist Church, Glen Rock, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society. She was a member of the York County Society of Farm Women. She assisted her husband with his photography studio in Hametown and loved to raise flowers, which grew all around the house and garden. She loved to cook and was a very good baker. Her specialty, to her husband Jim's delight, was coconut cream pie. She is survived by two daughters, Maryanne Smith and her husband, John of Glen Rock, and Helen Moody of Alpine, Texas; a son, Wayne Ebaugh and his wife, Margaret "Dolly" of Mimbres, N.M.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Boh Ebaugh of Chandler, Ariz. She was predeceased by a son, Larry Ebaugh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mr. Zion Potosi United Methodist Church, 10703 Mt. Zion Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327; or to Masonic Villages, 600 Freemason Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.

Praying you all will feel God's Peace & Grace surround you. I remember her kindness and laughter when we would gather with you at Aunt Mary Carman's...just a few years ago, Hmm?
