Michael Wonders Obituary
York
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Wonders, who entered eternal life July 11, at his home. Michael was born in Pittsburgh on February 1, 1954, but grew up in the York area. He was a Graduate of the 1972 class at Central York High School where he excelled as an athlete in basketball, volleyball and football.
Mike is survived by his wife of 36 years, Beverly (Poet). He was the son of Donald Wonders and the late Clara (Rahe). In addition to his wife Beverly, Michael is survived by his daughter, Jessica and husband, Jason of York; and three grandchildren, Benjamin, Ethan, and Abigail, all of whom loved their "Pap" more than words could ever describe, but not as much as they were loved by him. Michael also leaves behind a step-son, Joseph Kelly; two brothers, Keith and Jeff; and a sister, Holly.
With a personality larger than life and a heart of gold, he filled the hearts of most who knew him with his amazing knowledge on philosophies of life and his unique sense of humor.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 29th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2114 W. Market St., York, with a memorial service to follow at 7:30 p.m. with his friend. the Rev. Marshall Leonard. officiating. In lieu of flowers, spend time with a loved one, talk with an old friend, or listen to music - that's what Mike would have wanted.

I remember Wonders as a couple years older than me in high school. He was right place, right time at that age. He took a bit of quiet pride in the colors of opposing teams´ helmets imbedded in his helmet. And he sang.
