Mildred "Janie" Gholson, 85, entered into rest on Tuesday morning at her residence.
She was born April 16, 1930, in Philipsburg, the daughter of the late William H. Shimel, Jr. and Bessie (Myers) Harrison.
Janie worked as an operator for many years at AT&T.
The services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., is assisting with the arrangements.
She is survived by a son, David Gholson and his wife Sandi of York; granddaughters, Becky and Amber; great-granddaughter, Melody and her husband Ben; a great-great-grandson, Bennett; a sister, Pat Towler and her husband Norman. She was preceded in death by three sons, Steven Cooke, Patrick Cooke and William Gholson.
