Paul Bollinger Obituary

Paul L. Bollinger, 83, died at 5:40 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2006, at Hanover Hospital. He was the loving husband of Mary Jo (Kraft) Bollinger to whom he was married for over 63 years. The funeral service for Mr. Bollinger will be held on Monday, February 6, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Irwin Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with his pastor, the Rev. W. Arthur Grahe officiating. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest following the service in St. Peter's (Lischey's) Church Cemetery. Born March 20, 1922, in N. Codorus Twp., Paul was a son of the late William L. and Jennie C. (Markle) Bollinger. He retired in 1984 as Lead Inspector from P.H. Glatfelter Co. following 40 years of employment. Paul graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1941 and went on to serve his country during wartime. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and served as Pharmacist's Mate 3rd Class at various Naval Hospitals around the United States. He was a faithful and active member of St. Peter's (Lischey's) UCC and was a past treasurer of its consistory. He was also a member of the Glatfelter Quarter Century Club, Pvt. Allen J. Beck, Jr., Spring Grove Post # 5265 VFW, and the Jefferson Chapter # 3699 AARP. Paul will be fondly remembered for his passion for writing a variety of inspirational poems, which he often shared with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Mary Jo, Paul will be sadly missed by his son, David W. Bollinger of York; his daughter, Linda J. Serrano of Dover; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. May you be comforted by the knowledge that Paul is in the eternal care of his heavenly Father.

Resting in Jesus.
