Paul E. Foust, Jr., 95, passed away peacefully at Normandie Ridge on Monday, August 7. He was the beloved husband to Thelma (Wambaugh) Foust for more than 75 years.
Mr. Foust was born in York on August 5, 1922 and was the son of the late Paul E. and Ada (Slenker) Foust.
Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and was stationed in the China-Burma-India Theater. He worked as a welder for Johnson Controls and retired after more than 40 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Spry Church and was also a lifetime member of the VFW. He belonged to the Hellam VFW Post 7045, Pleasureville American Legion Post 799, and the Hawks Gunning Club. Paul was an avid horseback rider and enjoyed snowmobiling and hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Brenda Fallon and husband, Richard of South Carolina and BJ Milliken and husband, Mark of York; two granddaughters, Cari McMahon and husband, James of Pittsburgh, and P. Erin Hammons of York. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Claire, Ellie and Blaire; sister, Vivian Fitzkee and husband, Robert of York; brother, Gene Foust and wife, Ann of York; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Millicent Wambaugh.
A funeral service to honor Paul's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12 at Spry Church, 50 School St., York, PA 17402, with the Rev. Ken Loyer officiating. A viewing will be held at the church on Saturday and will begin at 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Paul's name be made to Spry Church or to the Benevolent Fund of Albright Care Services, 1700 Normandie Dr., York, PA 17408.
