Pauline Smeltzer Obituary

Pauline E. (Miller) Smeltzer, 84, formerly of Windsor, entered into rest on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 11:35 a.m. at Manor Care Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Alvin 'Pete' Smeltzer, who entered into rest on February 19, 1980. She was a nursing assistant working with the Visiting Nurse Association. She retired from the former Cole Steel in York; and was a member of Windsor Assembly of God Church in Windsor. Born in York County on March 14, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Mamie L. (Howard) Miller. She is survived by three sons, Merle A. Smeltzer and his wife, Donna of Hanover, Barry R. Smeltzer of Tampa, Fla. and Kerry Smeltzer of Red Lion; two daughters, Patsy M. Holtzapple of Yoe and Christine M. Vasellas of Red Lion; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Sterling F. Vasellas, who entered into rest in 2000. A viewing will be from 9 to 1 a.m. Wednesday at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. John F. Harman, officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, South Central PA Chapter, 2001 N. Front St., Bldg. 2, Suite 321, Harrisburg, PA 17102.
