Mary, Tom and Liz, I am very sorry for your loss. I had such wonderful times with Phil when we would work bingo and other activities at the fire hall. Also when we lived next to you guys. My prayers are with you and hope that you take comfort in knowing that Phil was a wonderful person and would help anyone when asked.

Tom and family, I am so sorry to hear about Phil. Whenever you were with him either in training, on a call, or just stopping by station 61 when he was there, you were always sure to walk away with a good memory or a good laugh. He will certainly be missed.

Mrs. Treffinger - No words seem to fit at a time like this...we all mourn with you on the loss of such a gentle soul. He was a wonderful friend, and I thought the world of him. He was devoted to you and so proud of the life you built together, and we often spoke of the joy you and your children brought to his life. I'm so sorry, and I hope you find peace in the good memories.

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you that are grieving the loss of Phil. I had the pleasure of being his colleague at the County and becoming his friend. I miss his sense of humor and his wit very much. I'm a better person for having known Phil and I will always value our friendship.

Mary, Tom and Lyzz,
Words cannot express my sorrow on the loss of Phil.
He sure was one of a kind. I knew him for over 30 ears dating back to when you lived in Southern Farms. When I joined The fire dept in New Freedom , Phil and I would always argue about which dept was better N. F. or Shrewsbury. Over twenty years later we became close when we worked together for York County. We started riding to work together. What a thrill that was, I was scared to death when he was driving. He drove too fast, cut corners and listened to rock on WTPA. Whenever a good song would come on he would crank it up and drive faster. I would think isn't he too old to like Def Leppard but he sure enjoyed his music, he was cool for an "old guy".
We had some great talks and he loved his family and glowed when talking about his grandkids and going to their games.
He had a very interesting life and told me stories about his teen years at the beach and his military service.
He proudly served his communities well with long and dedicated service to both Owings Mills and Shrewsbury Fire Companies.
He will be missed by many and I am blessed to have had him in my life
R.I.P. Pal.

Tom and family,
I am sorry to hear of the loss off your dad. I have many fond memories of Phil at the station and on calls. He was a male role model in my life, as were others at the station, when I needed it most. No words can ease your grief but take comfort in knowing Phil made a difference in the lives of others and his community.

I considered Phil a good friend as well as a great and dedicated employee. Phil worked for our DES organization not out of need but rather out of his love for the public safety profession and all those who served in it. Phil had a terrific work ethic and always strived to do what he could to keep those in public safety out of harms way.
Phil, I will miss you and be assured that trying to find someone to fill your shoes will be a monumental task. You truly cast a large shadow!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Treffinger family. Phil was a great man who gave so much to our community. There aren't many men like him out there that are dedicated to their families, their work, and their community. This is truly a loss but know that he is in a better place. He will probably be on the switchboard in heaven :-)
