Raymond Flickinger Obituary

Raymond A. Flickinger YORK Raymond A. 'Bud' Flickinger, 78, died Sunday, February 22, 2004, at his home. He was the husband of Alma (Lehman) Flickinger, to whom he was married for 47 years. The funeral service will be noon Friday at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with the Rev. Dr. Eddie D.D. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with fully military services provided by the York County Honor Guard. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Flickinger was born December 21, 1925, in York, the son of the late Albert and Iona (McGurk) Flickinger. He was the owner and operator of the former Buds Service, now Flickingers in West York, for more than 36 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII, with Battery 'A' 414th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. He was a member of VFW Post 8951 in West York. In addition to his wife, Mr. Flickinger is survived by a son, Gregory Flickinger of York; a daughter, Joan Rebert of Dover; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Flickinger of York. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Flickinger. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Rose Hospice, 325 S. Belmont St., York, PA 17403.
