Richard Warner Obituary

Richard T. Warner
Fawn Grove
Richard Warner left this life very early in the morning on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in York Hospital and was immediately welcomed into heaven by the Lord Jesus and by family and friends who preceded him in death. Born January 1, 1927, he was the son of Rose Thompson Warner and John Marshall Warner. He graduated from Highland High School in MD and immediately enlisted in the Air Force and served as a Military Policeman until the war ended. He served as a school custodian and later as the South Eastern School District's courier until his retirement in the 1970's.
He was a long-time member of Fawn United Methodist Church in Fawn Grove and for years, faithfully ordered the church's Sunday School materials. He was a skilled carpenter and set up a wood-working shop in his garage. Most Christmases his family members would look with excited anticipation as to what wooden gift was coming their way. Dick also enjoyed Sunday afternoon gatherings at the family farm on Frosty Hill Road, especially when the emphasis was on the desserts. Dick also looked forward to Fawn Grove's twice-a-year "Old Time Days" and the country music entertainment, Bob Sechrist's auctions, where he served as a "runner", and especially the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was married for more than 50 years to his beloved wife, Madeline (Lynn) Stewart who died 14 years ago. They were the parents of Jean Anne Maisch and her husband, Jack of New Park, and Susan Warner Manifold and her husband, Lee of New Park; seven grandchildren, Steven Tompkins and his wife, Cori, Kathy Huber and her husband, Jeff, Matthew Tompkins and his wife, Stacey, Jennifer Pavey and her husband, Mike, Nathan Manifold and his wife, Amy, David J. Maisch and his wife, Arlene and Stephen Maisch and his wife, Suzette; he is also survived by the following great and great-great grandchildren, Leah and Ashlynn Pavey, Luke, Jacob and Grace Huber, Josiah Tompkins, David R. Maisch, Jonathan, Matthew, Vasya and Atlas Triantafallou. The family would like to thank the lovely ladies from the Deanie Taylor King Agency who gave such loving care to Dick for the past two years: Nina, Dana, Beth, Sarah, Tammy, Falon and Ashley.
A public viewing will be from 10 a.m. until a funeral service begins at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5 at Fawn United Methodist Church, 67 S. Market St., Fawn Grove, PA 17321. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church at the address above.
