On Saturday, September 24, 2016, Robert Michael "Mike" Scherr, Jr., 49, died at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Ellen (Ritz) Scherr. Public viewing will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 29 at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 30. Interment will follow in New Freedom Cemetery. Apostle Lawrence Newsuam and Pastor Monette Newsuam will officiate. Mike was born April 19, 1967 in Baltimore, MD. He was a salesman for Tyler Run Auto Sales in York for thirteen years. He was a member of Freedom International Worship Center in York. He was a huge Denver Broncos, Baltimore Orioles and West Virginia fan. Mike collected model cars and enjoyed bowling, eating and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife; parents, Robert Michael Scheer, Sr. and wife, Barbara, and Teresa (McVicker) Armentrout; children, Alexis and Nick Costa, Lawrence Briscoe and Brianna King; three grandsons; and one granddaughter; one brother, Billy Scherr and his wife, April; close friends, Skip and Amy Billet, Butch and Carrie Linton, Jason Simpson and John Youngman. He is also survived by a lot of close friends that were like his family.
Donations in his memory may be made by going to any BB&T Bank or mailing a check to the Robert Michael Scherr, Jr. Memorial Fund, 16576 Susquehanna Trail South, New Freedom, PA 17349.

I am sorry to your parents, family, and friends for their loss. You and David use to play a lot together, when I was married to Jamie.
