Ronald Leonard Obituary

YORK Dr. Ronald Lee Leonard, Pastor, 71, entered into his Father's Kingdom, Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria D. (Stansbury) Leonard, with whom he shared almost 32 years of marriage. Ronald was born May 5, 1939, in York, the son of the late H. Catherine and Sylvester Leonard. Dr. Leonard, Pastor, achieved the Doctorate of Ministry. He answered the call of God over 26 years ago to be a pastor. He attended Lancaster Theological College and studied at the Bethea College in New York. He was the pastor of Faith Community Church, Manor St., York. He was an anointed prophet and disciple of the Lord. Pastor Leonard touched many lives, his presence will be deeply missed. Dr. Leonard leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Gloria Leonard of York; six children: Rhonda Green of Annapolis, Md., Tony Townsend of Harrisburg, Carol Markel, Berry Palmer, Melissa Drummond, and Nassiour Bryant Leonard, all of York; one adopted daughter, Ingrid Stubbs of York; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Marshall Leonard of York; two aunts, Susie Haines and Regina Murray; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other special family members and friends. He was preceded in death by siblings: Luther Beatty, Dickie Leonard, Russell Leonard, Joanna Banks, and Beverly Leonard Scott. A viewing will be held Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Faith Community Church, 713 Manor St., York., with the service beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Robert Woodall will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Glatfelter Funeral Home, Inc., York, is entrusted with the arrangements. 'Well done, thy good and faithful servant.'

When word came to me that Pastor Ron Leonard was gone I was deeply saddened. My family and I sat under the awesome leadership and pastoral care of Pastor. It was indeed an honor and a privilege to witness this Mighty Giant of Faith as he preach the uncompromise Word of God. He was a man of great faith, intergrity, wisdom and dedication .He will be missed deeply.
