Ruth M. Hash, 79, died at 7:07 a.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016, at York Hospital.
Mrs. Hash was born in Peach Bottom Township on July 3, 1936, a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Margaret M. (McCallister) Miller.
Raised in the Bryansville area, she was a 1954 graduate of Kennard-Dale High School. Ruth worked as a seamstress at the former Fawn Grove Manufacturing Co. for several years, followed by an almost 35-year career in the personnel departments of the former Bainbridge Naval Training Center and Aberdeen Proving Ground, from which she retired.
A longtime member of the Fawn United Methodist Church, Ruth sang in the church choir.
Mrs. Hash is survived by one son, Steven M. Hash of Red Lion; one sister, Mary M. Wright of Red Lion; one brother, Thomas J. Miller of Whiteford, Md.; one grandson, Steven M. Hash, Jr. of Red Lion. She was preceded in death by her special friend, Joseph W. Snyder.
Friends may call at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA, on Sunday evening, March 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7 at 11 a.m. at the Fawn United Methodist Church, 67 S. Market St., Fawn Grove, PA 17321, with her pastor, the Rev. David W. Stough officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
