Sarah Sherman

YORK Sarah (Tulin) Sherman, 95, of Senior Commons at Powder Mill and formerly of Springettsbury Township, died Monday, May 11, 2015 at the home. She was the wife of the late Sidney Sherman. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Temple Beth Israel, 2090 Hollywood Drive, York, with Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan, officiating. Burial will be in South Hill Hebrew Cemetery. There will be no viewing. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Sherman was born on April 18, 1920 in Mahanoy City, a daughter of the late Joseph and Cecilia (Lipkin) Tulin. She retired in 1987 from the McCory's Distribution Center in York, where she was employed as an Administrative Assistant for many years. She was a member of Temple Beth Israel, Hadassah, and was a former member of the Sisterhood of Ohev Sholom, York. She leaves a daughter, Cindy S. Solomon and her husband, Arthur of Stamford, Conn.; a son, Jay E. Sherman and his wife, Deborah of York; and three grandchildren, Dr. Brian Solomon and his wife, Susan, Ben Sherman and wife, Cathryn, and Jael Sherman Maue and husband, George; two great-grandchildren, Hailey Solomon and Ella Ruth Sherman; and a sister, Eva Kutz of Schuylkill Haven. She was predeceased by a grandson, Scott Solomon.
