RED LION Timothy J. Gulley, 49, went on to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. He was the husband of Trinda S. (Klunk) Gulley, to whom he would have been married 25 years on June 8, 2010. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown. Visitations will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Private burial will be held in Windsor Cemetery. Born April 17, 1961, in Rochester, Pa., a son of Gerald L. Gulley, Sr. of Monaca, and the late Marcella J. (Hurray) Gulley, he graduated from Monaca High School in 1979, earned his bachelor's degree in 1984 from Penn State University, and received his Masters degree in 1997 at Western Maryland College. Mr. Gulley was the Principal at Windsor Manor Elementary School in the Red Lion Area School District for the past 12 years. Prior to serving as principal, he was a sixth grade teacher at Mazie Gable Elementary School and fifth grade teacher at Edgar Moore Elementary School, both in the Red Lion School District. He had also previously taught fourth grade at St. Joseph Catholic School in York. Mr. Gulley was known for the many acts of generosity and kindness that he showed to his students and their families. He could always be found giving of himself in order to make someone else's life better. His education affiliations include National Assoc. of Elementary Principals, Phi Delta Kappa Professional Education Assoc., PA School Board Assoc., and PA State Education Association. Mr. Gulley was a licensed PIAA basketball official and loved refereeing these basketball games. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan and spent more than 20 years volunteering his time coaching a variety of athletic teams in the Red Lion area. Tim was a member of Windsor Lions Club, Windsor Fish and Game, and the former York Moose Lodge. He enjoyed collecting action figures and loved spending time with his family at Sanibel Island, Fla., Rehoboth Beach, Del., and shopping in New York City where he could always find a deal. In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Gulley is survived by a son, Timothy D. Gulley of Red Lion; a daughter, Sarah A. Gulley of Red Lion; four brothers, Gerald L. Gulley, Jr. and wife, Sheila Gulley, and Richard J. and wife, April Gulley, both of Newark, Ohio, Robert A. Gulley of Womelsdorf, and Gregory E. and wife, Kelly Gulley of Windsor; a sister, Melissa A. and husband, Robert Beckman of Monaca; a brother-in-law, Tod and wife, Tara Klunk of Felton; his father and mother-inlaw, David L. and Mary E. Klunk of Red Lion; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made payable to the Red Lion Area Educational Foundation for a scholarship that is being established in the name of Timothy J. Gulley. Checks should be sent to the Red Lion Area Education Center, 696 Delta Road, Red Lion, PA 17356 with a note designating that the contribution is to be directed to the Timothy J. Gulley Scholarship. I remember Mr. Gulley from my Fourth grade Math class at St. Joseph. He was one of the most memorable teachers I have ever had! I can still remember how all of us loved to line up in his class to play his Math quiz game. We used to get so carried away. He made learning so much fun for us all. Truely remarkable teacher. He will be missed.

Mr. Gulley was a very special man. He treated everyone with kindness, no matter what economical status, education level, or parenting style people had. Mr. Gulley always encouraged everyone to be the best they can be and would help in any way he could. All of my children went to Windsor Manor, my youngest will graduate this June, and all of them still remember him and are sadden about the loss everyone shares. God gave us Mr. Gulley to help us find the good in everyone. He looked for the children being good and doing the right thing, he encouraged them to act in a manner that is acceptable in society. He showed so many that being a principle and knowing him is not a bad thing. He interacted with the children of Windsor Manor in a positive way majority of the time. I am so thankful for knowing Mr. Gulley. My prayers are with the Gulley family, he will be greatly missed.

The loss of Mr.Gulley is a loss to the community. He was a wonderful person! My son was one of his students and during this time in his life, my son was having a hard time dealing with not having a father. Mr. Gulley took time to understand him and he was the only man, besides his pappy that he let inside his heart! Thank you so much! God Bless you and your family.

Throughout our lives we meet a person that touches us and makes a lasting impression on us that we carry a lifetime---that person is you. As I read all the fond memories of you from others--I can not top them nor can I add any more to them that hasn't already been said. You are one of a kind--fun, caring, loving, nurturing, enriching and educating. The most important person in my life is my son and the most important person in his is you. You have been his Hero--his shining star--his very foundation of life---you've taught him: morals, obligations, about sports; you've guided him and most of all you were his friend. For that Tim, my husband and I are eternally grateful and thank you. May you soar with the Angels.

Gulley Family, we thank you for sharing with us such a wonderful man. May you find comfort in knowing how many lives he has changed and made better. God Bless you during this very difficult time and may his wonderful memories endure a lifetime.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr.Gulley was a wonderful man.He was always soft-spoken,and kind.He always had a smile on his face.He truely cared about the children of windsor manor (it wasn't "just a job" to him)Even during his lunch, when you would think he would want to get away from the children for a few minutes,he wouldn't ,he would let them come into his office to eat lunch with him.My son loved to eat lunch with him.The first time my son told me that he had lunch in the principal's office I said "great, what did you do wrong?" He said " Nothing, I asked Mr. Gulley if I could eat lunch with him,and he said yes" That's just the kind of man he was,he liked to keep the children happy. My son said that the last thing he remembers doing with Mr.Gulley was going to McDonalds.( He took the kids that sold entertainment books to McDonalds,as a way of thanking them)I am so glad that my son attended Mr. Gulley's school ,so I could have the honor of knowing such a great man.I prayed that he would get better,I'm sorry he didn't. My thought's,and prayers are with your family at this time of sorrow.
Mr.Gulley was a wonderful man,who will be sadly missed.

Dear Gulley Family,
My family is so saddened by your loss.I had the experience of working with Tim years ago when I helped with the PTO at Windsor Manor. I was always enlightened by his warm smile and gentle words of encouragement. He was a wonderful mentor to my daughter when he coached her softball team and he was such a wonderful Principal. He will be dearly missed by a lot of students, friends and family. As I think of Tim and the Gulley family one song comes to mind that helps me through this sad time. The song is Amazing Grace....how sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I am found, was blind but now I see. God bless you Tim as you have blessed so many!

God Saw You...
by Author Unknown

God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, "Come to me".
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

You are/will be truly & deeply missed by so many. Words can not express enough when you are spoken of to others who may not know you like your Windsor Manor Elem. family on how important, loved, admired & dedicated to each one of your students that you had. When I hear the fraise "No Child Left Behind",I always thought of Mr. Gully. We will miss you FOREVER & forget-NEVER!

Mr. Gulley was my 6th grade teacher at Mazie Gable. I can still remember some of the encouraging things he said to me that year. I am now a teacher, and hope that I can make a positive difference in their lives like he made in mine. My prayers are with the Gulley family in this time of mourning. Cindy (Lehman) Abeles

My prayers are with your family. Mr. Gulley was a great teacher I had him over 20 years ago when I was in the fifth grade. He always had a way of making class fun. He will be greatly missed by all.

My prayers go out to all of you while you are going through this sad time. Mr. Gulley was truly a great man. I feel so blessed to have had him as a teacher. I only wish that more teachers could be as caring as he was.
God Bless you all.
