William Herman Jr.

William 'Bill' Herman Jr., 75, died at 9:27 a.m. Sunday, November 10, 2002, at Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill. Born February 19, 1927 in York, son of the late William B. and B. Elmira (Snyder) Herman, he retired from Anchor Motor Freight, Inc. as a terminal manager. He was U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the James A. Danner, Post =537 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Etters; Veterans of WWII; Moose Lodge = 148; National Rifle Association; Northern York County Fish and Game, and the Lewisberry Mills Gun Club. Mr. Herman is survived by his wife of 43 years, Phyllis J. (Cassel) Herman, of Newberrytown; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John S. Herman and Milton Herman and one sister, Mary Jo Snellbaker. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Newberrytown Church of God, 1055 Yocumtown Rd., Etters, with his pastor, Rev. David A. Yost, officiating. Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery. Viewing will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. William E. Little Funeral Home, Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Newberrytown Church of God.
