William F. Scharf, 58, passed away Monday, Nov. 21. He was the husband of Carmen E. (Nieuweboer) Scharf. The couple celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on September 29, 2016.
Born July 3, 1958 in Baltimore, a son of the late Theodore and Ruth (Lankford) Scharf, he was a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. William was the owner and operator of The Willworks Group, a graphic design business, for over 18 years. He enjoyed being a member of the Maryland Orchid Society where he shared his knowledge and passion of orchid growing. He loved spending his time with his loved ones, working on his business, and fly fishing.
In addition to his beloved wife, Mr. Scharf is survived by one son, Otto Scharf and fiancé Amanda Oldham both of Dallastown; two daughters, Hannah Scharf and fiancé Joseph Cederberg both of Hellam, and Naomi Scharf of Felton; one brother, Ted Scharf and wife, Elizabeth and their two daughters, Mary and Heather, of Kingsville, MD; one sister, Cindy Scharf of Kingsville, MD.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Colorectal Research Fund, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
