WILTON-Carol J. Baker, 86, of Wilton, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty, Iowa. A private family funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. Interment will take place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family, which will be used to assist front-line employees. Condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com
Carol was born on January 14, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Jeanette (Thurston) Blank in Wilton. She married Donald R. Baker on February 11, 1950 in Iowa City. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2014.
Carol was a homemaker, who cherished taking care of her family. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wilton. Carol enjoyed traveling across the United States with her family. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially bicycling. Carol and her husband, Don also bowled in their younger year. Most of all, Carol treasured spending time with her family and friends.
Carol is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cindy (Terry) Hayes of Wilton and her son, Steven "Hooker" (Deirdre) Baker of Eldridge, Iowa; grandchildren, Jill (Kevin) Hansen of Walcott, Jesse (Jen) Owen of Muscatine, Jason (Sara) Owen of Muscatine, Teiah (Mike) Baker of Davenport, Brandi (Chauncey) Montagna of Wilton and Kirstin (Gage) Rodewald of Ankeny, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Bryant, Jordan, Mick, Nathan, Bryce, Chase, Hailey, Tyler, Collin, Brady, Teegan, Chloe, Liam, Tom and Myla; and her brother, DeWayne (Shirley) Blank of Long Grove, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; great-granddaughter, Allie E. Owen; a sister, Gayle and her brother, Fredrick Blank.
