Jolene Gilbert Obituary
York Twp. - Jolene A. (Engles) Gilbert, 82, passed away at UPMC Memorial surrounded by her family on November 19, 2020 at 8:00 PM. She was born in York to the late Walter L. Engles and Laura Mae (Sechrist) Engles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, John H. Gilbert. She was employed by a sewing factory and the Spirit of '76 Motel in York. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great friend to all who knew her. She is survived by two sons, Steven J. Vicchiotti, and his wife Melissa, of West Virginia, and Jonathan M. Gilbert, and his wife Donna, of Dallastown; a stepdaughter, Carol A. Gilbert; and a stepson, Jeffrey A. Gilbert, both of York. Her grandchildren, Sarah, Zachary, Mason, Aaron, and Zoey loved her very much; as well as several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Here is your great grandson James Henry..... you both would love him so much n be spoiling him. Jon n I are going a pretty good job of keeping him spoiled. You both would be very proud of Aaron n Zoey bc they are excellent parents n they will tell James all about you both throughout his life. We love you n miss you everyday. Until we meet again.....

Aaron n Zoey got married on Jon´s birthday. Even though you n Johnny were not there in person we all felt your presence in our hearts. You both would be so proud of Aaron n Zoey for the accomplishments they both have made. There he is Johnny, your pride n joy all grown up n starting a new chapter in his life. I wish you could´ve met Zoey bc you´d see that she is the perfect partner for your precious grandson. We love n miss you both SOOOO much. Keep watching over us.......until we meet again

I miss you so much! The house just isn’t the same without the sound of your tv blaring in your room. It’s too quiet. I’d give anything to hear that loud tv just one more time or the chance to sit on the deck with you while you enjoy your cigarette n reminisce about John n the way life use to be. I know you have a brand new healed body n you are finally reunited with the love of your life. We will meet again one day but until then watch over us n know we love you very much!

I love you, Mom. Having you live with us for the last 6 years makes it even harder to say goodbye. The house isn't the same and we all miss you. I know you're with Dad now and someday I will see you both again. Rest in Peace, we love and miss you so much!
