Beulah M. Garhart

1933 - 2024

Beulah M. Garhart, age 91 of Stromsburg, died Sunday, July 14, 2024 in Stromsburg. She was born on July 12, 1933 to Irvin and Ruby M. (Timmerman) Cloyd in Ewing. She graduated from Ewing High School in 1951. On April 19, 1952 she was united in marriage to George Alfred Garhart in O'Neill.

Beulah was a clinical secretary, the secretary of admissions at York College for 20+ years, and Epworth Village for one year. She was the bakery manager at Super Value for three years, bakery clerk at Econo Foods, and worked at Floralane Flower Shop for nine years. She owned Family Floral in York for seven or eight years. Her last employment was as a clerk at Blue Valley. Beulah was an active supporter of Helping Hands for York College and made quilts for all the kids. She made lots of silk flowers for friends and weddings and belonged to a card club. She spent the last few years living at Midwest Covenant Home where she did crafts, puzzles, solitaire on the computer, and dominoes and scrabble with Kimberly.

She is survived by sons, Rodney (Mary) Garhart of York and Jerry (Fatiha) Garhart of Kenitra, Morocco; daughter, Cheryl (Wayne) Sackschewsky of York; grandchildren, Kate (Chris) Cox of Lincoln, Kimberly Garhart of Lincoln, Stephanie Garhart of Maryland, Robert Garhart (Carmen) of South Carolina, Leila Garhart of York, Phillip (April) Sackschewsky of Waco, Valerie Sackschewsky (Mike) of Columbus and Dr. Melissa (Dustin) Schock of Fullerton;15 great-grandchildren; brother, Ron Cloyd of York; brother-in-law, Russ Napier of Lincoln; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael; brother, David Cloyd; sister, Judy Napier and sister-in-law, Merit Cloyd.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, July 19, 2024 at Metz Chapel in York, with Pastor Leonard Suhr officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Visitation will be held from 1 - 8 p.m., Thursday, with the family greeting friends from 6 - 7:30 p.m., all at Metz Mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to York Adopt-A-Pet.
